The Dance Academy participates in a variety of community events and fundraising activities at the studio. Ashton Kline has taken on leading the efforts of fundraising and community events that TDA participates in throughout the year. TDA believes it is essential to teach the dancers that it is important to give back to the community as much as it is to teach them the techniques of dance. With the help of TDA’s amazing families, TDA is able to participate in a variety of charitable projects throughout the year.

Spirit Week
Spirit Week
Spirit week at The Dance Academy has become a tradition that is loved by the students from 2 ½ to 18 years old. For 4 days, our students come to class dressed in the Halloween costumes and support a different local charity chosen each year. What a great week at The Dance Academy. Students donate $1 to wear their Halloween costume and get excited about helping support causes like the Breast Cancer Research Foundation and the local food bank. The Dance Academy believes is giving back to the community and supporting philanthropic organizations.
The Dance Academy Food Drive
The Dance Academy Food Drive
It is estimated that 1 in 7 people were at risk of going hungry in the United States last year. That is a staggering number. November is the month that we gather with our friends and families to give thanks for all that we are fortunate to have. The Southampton Food Pantry needs our help. So during the month of November, The Dance Academy asks our TDA families to come together and help make other peoples’ Thanksgiving Holiday special. Our goal each year is to collect 500 pounds of food to help families in our community.
Items that are collected:
Canned food | can soups | dry milk | coffee, tea & hot chocolate |
peanut butter | rice | salt & sugar | flour |
potato buds | tuna fish | tooth paste | shampoo & soaps |
beans | pancake mix | deserts | pain medications |
Toys for Tots Program
Toys for Tots Program
Since starting in 1995, the Marine toys for Tots Program has distributed over 469 million toys to over 216 million less fortunate children. This past year, we are excited to be able to help and add to those statistics here at The Dance Academy. As an organization of dance that teaches children on a daily basis, we want to help make a difference in the lives of children who are less fortunate that we do not get to meet as well. Thank you for making this past year successful and helping The Dance Academy make children smile. Every year during the month of December, The Dance Academy is a toy drop for the Toys for Tots Program.
The Dance Academy, Dancing for the Cure
The Dance Academy, Dancing For The Cure
In 2015, it is estimated that among U.S. women there will be:
- 231,840 new cases of invasive breast cancer (This includes new cases of primary breast cancer among survivors, but not recurrence of original breast cancer among survivors.)
- 60,290 new cases of in situ breast cancer (This includes ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) and lobular carcinoma in situ (LCIS).
- 40,290 breast cancer deaths
According to Susan G. Komen website: These statistics are eye opening. That is why the month of October at The Dance Academy we are raising money to make a donation to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The Breast Cancer Research Foundation currently donates 91 cents of every dollar on breast cancer research and awareness programs, which is why we have chosen this non-profit organization to make our donation to. We will be collecting pennies, nickels, dimes and dollars the month of XYZ in order to send a donation at the end of the month. Please join us in the fight against breast cancer….Together, we can make a difference.
