Along with a full dance education, many students at The Dance Academy are offered the opportunity to participate in competition teams, allowing them to attend some of the finest and most challenging dance competitions in the country. While our school has always achieved high 
scores in local, regional and national competitions, these competitions take a back seat to our classes, the backbone of a fine dance education.
Competition teams include lines for tap, jazz, lyrical, and ballet and students attend approximately four competitions each year. Participation and costume fees apply. For additional information please send us an email.

Nationals 2016
2016 Nationals in Hershey proved to be a good year for TDA with our dancers earning high awards. One of the highlights was our Large group Les Miserable’ taking 1st place overall and receiving a standing ovation! All our dancers did a great job, from the first year competition dancer to our seasoned competition dancer, we could not be more proud of all TDA dancers at the 2016 Edge Talent Competition Nationals.
Nationals 2015
The Dance Academy went to the 2015 Showstopper Nationals in Myrtle Beach, SC. In 2015, The Dance Academy was represented beautifully by all of our groups, lines, soloists, duos, and trios. All of the TDA dancers performed outstanding and brought home many awards to prove it!!! We are so very proud of our dancers.
All of the following groups were finalists and additionally represented TDA in the Showstoppers’ National Finals Webcast Championship at the end of the week:
- Feeling Good- Senior Large Group Jazz – finished 2nd Runner-up
- Pandora’s Box – Senior Small Group Jazz
- Altering Time- Teen Small Group Lyrical
- Your Girl- Teen Large Group Lyrical- finished 3rd runner-up
- Power- Junior Large Group Jazz
- Bridge Over Troubled Water- Junior Small Group Lyrical
